Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has prepared Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for 84 projects in the current fiscal year, with an estimated total cost of Rs 1.06 billion, according to Dhana Bahadur Basnet, the Chief of the Commission's Secretariat.

The projects include 37 heritage-related initiatives, 13 focused on greenery and park construction, and 33 infrastructure-related developments. These efforts reflect KMC’s commitment to enhancing the city's cultural, environmental, and infrastructural landscape.

Meanwhile, KMC has scheduled its 16th municipal assembly meeting for December 29. The assembly will review the progress of approved programs for the current fiscal year. Discussions are underway within the budget formulation committee to address challenges in implementing certain programs and to consider new initiatives as replacements.

The planned projects are part of KMC’s broader agenda to improve urban living and preserve Kathmandu's rich heritage while addressing the city's growing infrastructure needs.
